OnePlus has revealed its latest smartphone in its Flagship series, the OnePlus 12. The phone was Launched in China, and it will also launch in India and worldwide on January 24. OnePlus 12 is powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and features an upgraded Periscope camera setup.
Brightest Ever Display
OnePlus 12 flaunts a 6.8 inch 2K LTPO OLED display, made in collaboration with BOE. The refresh rate is 120 Hz and it also supports 2160 Hz PWM Dimming. For content viewing, we can watch Dolby Vision, and HDR 10+ videos and the peak brightness is up to 4500 nits. These levels are extreme and the brightest panel yet in the industry.
OnePlus 12 Periscope Camera
While the back design looks similar to the OnePlus 11, the cameras here are quite superior. OnePlus 12 features a triple camera set-up that consists of a 50MP Sony LYT-808 sensor with OIS. 64MP Omnivision OV64B periscope telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, 6x optical quality zoom and 120x digital zoom. Lastly, a Sony IMX581 48MP ultrawide camera.

OnePlus 12 Processor
For playing games and performing intensive tasks, the OnePlus 12 has a large cooling system in place. This will be needed for the Flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 CPU & Adreno 540 GPU. Additionally, it has faster UFS 4.0 storage and LPDDR5X RAM. The base variant of the OnePlus 12 comes with 12GB RAM and goes up to 24GB RAM and 1TB storage. Also, for faster data transfers, it has a USB 3.2 Gen 1 port.
Battery & Charging
OnePlus 12 also supports Rain touch mode and is rated for IP65 water and dust resistance. The phone is powered with a 5400 mAh battery that supports 100W charging and 50W wireless charging. It also has new improved haptics with X-axis linear motor and Bionic vibrations.
OnePlus 12 Pricing and Availability
OnePlus 12 is currently available for pre-order in China only. The base variant (12GB RAM/256GB Storage) is priced at ¥4299 which roughly converts to ₹50,590/$606/€560. The global and India launch is set for 24 January. Let’s hope the prices are close to the Chinese ones, which is highly unlikely though.
