Hey there! If you’ve been following the latest updates from Once Human, you’re probably as excited as we are about the upcoming changes. The big news? Once Human Permanent Servers are officially launching on March 13th! This is a game-changer, and today, we’re breaking down everything you need to know about this update.

What Are Once Human Permanent Servers?
Let’s start with the basics. Once Human Permanent Servers are exactly what they sound like—servers that won’t reset or disappear after a season ends. Your progress, character, and hard-earned achievements will stick around for the long haul. It’s a major shift from the previous seasonal model, and it’s designed to give players a more stable and lasting experience.
According to the official announcement, all servers (except private ones) will automatically convert into Once Human Permanent Servers. The conversion process will take about two hours, during which the servers will be inaccessible. Once it’s done, active players (those who’ve logged in within the last 30 days) will retain their progress, including character levels, materials, deviations, and social relationships.
What Happens to Inactive Players?
Now, here’s where things get interesting. Characters that haven’t been logged in for over 30 days won’t be retained. Instead, they’ll go through a server settlement process and be removed by default. This is to free up server space and ensure that only active players remain.

But don’t worry—if your character gets removed due to inactivity, you can still sign up for a new scenario and continue playing. Plus, the team behind Once Human has hinted at relaxing the inactive player rule in the future. Instead of the current 30-day requirement, they’re considering extending it to 180 days. This means returning players will have a better chance of reclaiming their characters and progress without starting from scratch.

Scenarios and Server Merging
Another key detail about Once Human Permanent Servers is how scenarios will work. Scenarios will come in two forms: with or without Visional Will features. If a scenario has the Blood Moon Visional Will tag, it’ll be converted into a permanent server with those features. If it doesn’t have the tag, it’ll become a permanent server without Visional Will.

Additionally, if two or more servers share the same region and scenario status, they might be merged into separate worlds on the same permanent server. This means players will be able to switch worlds and visit others within these merged servers. This feature is expected to roll out by Q2 2025, adding even more depth to the gameplay.
Seasonal Content and Updates?
While the announcement covers a lot of ground, there are still some unanswered questions. For example, what happens to the seasonal goals, trophies, shops, etc? Will the seasonal reset still exist alongside permanent serves?
(UPDATE) If you’re on an older server, you won’t get new seasonal content or mimetic changes. However, newer servers launched after March 13th will have updated content, including Visional Roulettes instead of the old Visional Wheel system. These newer servers will feel fresher, with more dynamic content updates.
Final Thoughts on Once Human Permanent Servers
The introduction of Once Human Permanent Servers is a huge step forward for the game. It promises a more stable and long-term experience for players. The seasonal reset is one of the major reasons the game is declining in active players base. However, the permanent servers are not the one-stop solution to the problem and players will need constant new content to keep things fresh.
What do you think about these changes? Are you excited about the shift to permanent servers, or do you have concerns about how it’ll impact your gameplay? Let us know your thoughts! And don’t forget to stay tuned for more updates as we get closer to the launch date.
