UPI Support on Nokia Feature Phones May Be Facing Uncertainty
A message reportedly received by feature phone users across India has sparked concerns about the future of UPI payments on several Nokia and HMD devices.
The SMS states:
“UPI service from Gupshup Pay will not be available from August 1st onwards. Kindly make alternate arrangements for your UPI payments.”
For many smartphone users, this might sound like a routine service update. For feature phone owners, however, it could be far more significant.
Over the past few years, UPI support has become one of the biggest selling points for modern feature phones, allowing users to make digital payments without switching to Android or iPhone devices.
If the service behind those payments is being discontinued, thousands of users could be affected.
Why UPI on Nokia Feature Phones Matters
When Nokia and HMD began introducing UPI-enabled feature phones, the goal was simple: bring digital payments to people who preferred traditional phones.

What remains unclear is how the transition will affect existing feature phone users.

Is UPI Actually Ending on Nokia Feature Phones?
