Motorola has been gaining a lot of attention with the recent launch of its smartphone. The Motorola Moto Edge 50 is the fourth addition to its Edge series this year. It’s highlight selling point is the tough Military Grade protection. However, a user has complained of unfair marketing practices by Motorola.

Wrong Information on Product Page?

Before a product launch the company usually puts out a teaser on sites like Flipkart. As Flipkart is the official seller for Motorola devices. That was the case for Moto Edge 50 as well, and the product ad page was put up.

The ad page on the Flipkart’s app and website mentioned 3 Years of Software update and 4 years of Security updates. But after the phone’s launch, it was changed to 2 years of Software update and 3 years of security updates.

No one likes a dishonest brand!

This was shared by a user on X (formerly Twitter) noticed something quite significant.

He mentioned his disappointment and complaint of unfair practice by brands. OnePlus in the past has been criticised for something similar. Due to a typo for one of their product mentioned UFS 4.1 storage for 128 GB model, while it was only for 256 GB model. This received quite a backlash from the tech community and even popular tech YouTube creators.

Moto Edge 50 is Under powered?

Motorola.Moto Edge 50 comes with a older Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset. This could be the reason for the reduced software update timeline. However, it still isn’t justified for the company to lie and change information on the launch date. Hopefully, brands will take notice and improve on their marketing practices.
