Whether you are installing Kodi for the first time or upgrading from a previous version, this extensive guide will ensure a smooth installation process.

Installing Kodi 21 on Android Devices

For Android devices, open the Google Play Store. Type “Kodi” in the search bar, select the Kodi app from the search results, and click “Install.” The installation process will begin automatically. Once installed, you can open Kodi from your app drawer and start exploring its features.

Installing Kodi 21 on Fire Stick, Fire Cube, and Fire TV

For Fire Stick, Fire Cube, or Fire TV, if Kodi is unavailable on your app store or you prefer side-loading it, follow these steps using the Downloader app. From the home screen, choose the “Find” option and click on “Search.” Start typing “Downloader” and select it from the suggestions that appear. Click on the orange Downloader app and install it. This app will allow you to download files from the internet directly onto your Fire Stick or Fire TV device.

Open Downloader and allow it to save files to your device by clicking “Allow” when prompted. Go to Fire Stick Settings> My Fire TV > Developer Options > Install Unknown Apps, and turn on the permission for Downloader. This step is important as it enables Downloader to install apps from sources other than the official app store.

Press the select button on your remote seven times until you see a message saying you are now a developer. Go back to the previous menu to access Developer Options and enable Downloader to install unknown apps.

Downloading Kodi via Downloader App

Open Downloader and type in the code 28907, then click “Go.” Wait a few seconds for the downloads page to load. Navigate to the media players category and select Kodi. Choose the correct download link for your device (e.g., Fire TV version for Fire Stick). Click “Install” to update or install Kodi.

Note: If you are updating from a previous version, your add-ons will remain intact unless you are upgrading from Kodi 18.

After installation, click “Done” and then “Delete” to remove the installation file, which is no longer required. Open Kodi from your app screen and allow it to access media on your device by clicking “Allow” when prompted.

Post-Installation Steps for Kodi 21

To ensure Kodi works without any problems, it’s important to allow Kodi to access media on your device. This permission will enable Kodi to manage and play your media files seamlessly. Additionally, keep in mind that Kodi does not come with any pre-installed content. It is merely a media player. To enhance your Kodi experience, you might want to install add-ons or builds that can provide access to various types of content.

Finding and Installing Popular Kodi Add-Ons

Kodi allows you to install various add-ons that can extend its capabilities. These add-ons can be found in repositories that you can add to Kodi. Some popular repositories include the Kodi Add-on Repository, SuperRepo, and TVAddons. To install an add-on, go to the Kodi home screen, click on “Add-ons,” then select “Install from repository.” Browse the repository and select the add-on you want to install.

Moreover, Builds are pre-configured Kodi setups that come with multiple add-ons, skins, and settings already installed. They provide a customized Kodi experience right out of the box. To install a build, you typically need to add the build’s source URL to Kodi, download the build, and install it.

Customizing Kodi to Suit Your Preferences

Additionally, Kodi’s interface can be customized to suit your preferences. You can change the skin, adjust settings, and even create custom menus. To change the skin, go to Settings > Interface > Skin and select from the available options. Additional skins can be downloaded from the official Kodi repository.
